HUMMUS.  The dip that is taking the world by storm!  It’s one of my all time favorite dips, and one of the healthiest for you!  Hummus is made primarily of chickpeas and tahini.  It’s also often flavored with olive oil, garlic and lemon juice.  Chickpeas are rich in protein and have no saturated fats or cholesterol.   SCORE!  They can help maintain healthy blood sugar levels too. Tahini is also a great source of protein, but it’s high in fat.  Luckily it’s the good kind of fat that your body needs to function (a.k.a. not saturated fat) so don’t worry about it.   I love to dip carrots, celery, crackers and pita chips in hummus!
